My oldest daughter is a freshman at Lincoln Christian University. Several weeks ago, I went for a visit and we did several mini-sessions with some of the students. It’s a pretty small campus and we had fun finding unique locations for each person’s session. Thanks, guys! It was fun!

Drew’s mom and I met when she took my Learning to Click class. I was so happy when she contacted me to do Drew’s senior pictures. He was a lot of fun and definitely had his own ideas about how this should go. Here are a few of my favorites.

Effective immediately, I will no longer be taking family and children sessions. I will only be doing high school seniors. Now, this is not an absolute. If you have been a client previously and wish to contact me for a non-senior session, please feel free to go ahead and do so. I will also offer mini-sessions periodically throughout the year for specific things, like Christmas. So as not not to leave you hanging, here are some other options for you to take a look at.

Sweet Pea Photography – Allyson does a fantastic job with children and families. She has a lifestyle approach to portraits that is just gorgeous. She does fill up quickly, though, so you’ll want to contact her early or be prepared for a waiting list.

Holly Birch Photography - Holly specializes in weddings and also enjoys shooting Illini sports. But, she does other stuff, too.

Jeremy Fenelon – He’s a wedding guy. I’ve never done weddings, but I do periodically get calls for weddings, so I thought I’d include Jemermy.

Carrie Bodznick – Carrie is just starting out, but does some nice work. She specializes in families and children, so is worth checking out.

I’m really looking forward to being able to fully focus on high school seniors. By specializing in this one area, I’ll be able to become the best I can and I’d rather be fantastic at one thing than just good at several.

I did a mini session yesterday with a couple of cute little girls who you’ve seen before, here and here. Mom got the cutest little matching swimsuits and coverups and hats just to die for. We met at the park and the morning was gorgeous!! I think mom and I both had grand ideas of amazing shots we would get of these girls together. Well, that’s the thing with children’s photography. In the end, they really end up calling the shots. And I’m pretty sure that Little A did NOT have the same ideas that her mom and I did. Even Littler M was even less interested in our plans, but at least she was too little to run away. Despite so many different ideas going around between us all, here are a couple of my most favorites.

And for two reasons: 1. I think outtakes are fun, and 2. Just to prove my comments from above….

You can thank me for sparing you from seeing Little M spitting up all over her Maw Maw (that’s grandmother for the uninitiated).

Jessica, your girls give me a workout, but they are adorable and so much fun!! Can’t wait to see them again.

School’s about out. It’s time to start thinking about your senior year! Part of that is your senior portraits. Summer is filling up quickly, so call now to schedule your session. Wall Displays {Mahomet Family Photographer}

I love walking into a house and seeing my photos displayed. I love seeing how people choose to display my photos. When I walked into this house and saw what she did, I was so in love! Her Christmas tree was up at the time, blocking the gorgeous window light she had coming in, so I told her to let me know when the tree was down so I could come back. Well, this talented mama also makes gorgeous cakes! I just happened to be picking up a cake order and she reminded me to bring my camera for the wall, so I did. You may remember these images from this session. There are a couple of cake pictures at that link also. Cakes Kris has made for me. Now, here is her gorgeous wall display.

And just for fun, here are some shots of the cake she made me for last week. The theme was based on a series of books my 12 year old daughter is reading. I haven’t read them so can’t really tell you anything about them. But the cake was delicious!

Now, that’s not what you think. This is a family blog, after all. It’s a style. It’s my style for Senior Portraits. What’s so exciting, and what I want to talk about is that Totally Rad Actions is releasing a new plug in for Photoshop in just a few short days that will do in just a tiny bit of the time it takes me to do it by hand. To give you an idea of what Dirty Pictures are, here are some examples. I’m showing you the before and after so you can see just how cool this process is.
